Remove-Notification

There is a notification in the Exchange 2013 EAC which will not go away.

Get-Notification shows it as a MailboxExport with a type of ExportPST and a status of Queued.

It's from a year ago and running the command Get-Mailbox -Arbitration | Start-ManagedFolderAssistant did not help.

Get-MailboxExportRequest does not show any existing mailbox export requests. (I always remove them when finished).

So this is an orphan notification, about a non-existent mailbox export request, from a year ago, which the managed folder assistant will not clean up.

How do we remove it?

Thanks

Bill

Hi,

Based on your situation, there is no result when you run Get-MailboxExportRequest command, but there is still notification when you use Get-Notification cmdlet.

The alert is stored in the Federated email arbitration mailbox: FederatedEmail.4c1f4d8b-8179-4148-93bf-00a95fa1e042. As a workaround, you can recreate this system mailbox.

This is not an acceptable solution.

Hi,

Generally, if notification items are left in the arbitration mailbox, they will be removed by the Managed Folder Assistant after 30 days because they are stamped with the AsyncOperationNotification system retention tag.

In your case, this export request was created a year agao. Because the alert is stored in the Federated email arbitration mailbox: FederatedEmail.4c1f4d8b-8179-4148-93bf-00a95fa1e042, the way to recreate this system mailbox can be an available solution.
