Remove-MailboxExportRequest on disabled mailbox
Hi, I have a script which automates the export and disabling of users mailboxes. But I have noticed that once these process have been completed I am left with a load of export requests that I can now no longer delete as there isn't a related mailbox, which is already disconnected. Is there a way of forcing the removal of these requests? If not I can conceivably see that if I connect the mailbox once more, remove the request, then disable the mailbox that might do it but I was wondering if there was a better way. I also assume that if I were to remove the mailbox export requests before disabling the mailbox would also work but that's not where I am right now, if you see what I mean. Thanks. Howard

Hi as far as I know, there is no way to remove-mailbox export request on disable mailbox. 1. Export mailbox ->disable mailbox ->enable mailbox ->remove mailbox export request -> disable box. 2. Export mailbox -> remove mailbox export request-> disable mailbox

I feared as much. I have already removed some of them by enabling the mailbox once more, removing the request and then disabling it again. It just seems like an oversight. What would happen for instance if you were to delete the user account and the mailbox. I'm not sure recreating things as they were would be enough to remove those requests.

Hi As ar as I know, recreate account will have different GUID. So it doesn't work.

Hi, For the old exports enabling reattaching the mailbox, removing the export requesting then disabling the mailbox once more. For new automated exports I have altered my script so that it confirms the export has succeeded, then removes the export request before disabling the mailbox and the AD account.

Has there been anything new on this? I can't find anything. It's not the end of the world, but I've got export requests sitting here for mailboxes and users that were removed... I guess there are more important things to work on, but it seems like there ought to be some way to deal with this. Obviously not removing the accounts until you clear the requests is all well and good for the future, and surely we've all modified our procedures and scripts accordingly. But it really doesn't answer the question at all, which is how to deal with the orphaned requests that already exist.
