Removal of Exchange server 2007 problems
Hello, when I try and remove server, I get two errors: Hub Transport Role PrerequisitesFailed Error:This computer is configured as a source transport server for 1 connector(s) in the organization. These must be moved or deleted before Setup can continue. Elapsed Time: 00:00:18 Mailbox Role PrerequisitesFailed Error:Uninstall cannot continue. Database 'Public Folder Database': Exchange is unable to check for public folder replicas for the public folder database that you specified. Verify the Microsoft Information Store service is running, and that the database is properly mounted. Specified public folder database: "ICTTESTSERVER\Second Storage Group\Public Folder Database".Recommended Action: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=30939&l=en&v=ExBPA.3&id=b6e3b32a-8848-46cb-9567-72288ac15f60 The url provided for the second problem does not really help. So far, I had been unable to remove the Public Folder Database. This was a fresh instal of server and has not been used by users, so there is only one Public Folder db and I have no idea whta the source transport error is all about. Any help would be really good.

Thanks for that DOC Admin, but the problem I am most worried about is this error about source transport server - I have never heard of this in my life, and I can't find much about it in relation to exchange 2007 even on google.Kind RegardsRob

You have to delete any connector existing in the Exchange Global Settings for the Hub Transport Server role. HTH

Yes, You need to delete all the connector in your organization where the current server is a bridgehead server. So simply delete those connectors using ADSIEDIT if you're unable to open the EMC or EMS and continue with the uninstallation process.Arun Kumar | MCSE - 2K3 + Messaging | ITIL-F V3

To remove from ADSIEdit: Configuration, CN=Services, CN=Microsoft Exchange, CN=Administrative Groups, CN=Routing Groups, CN=Exchange Routing Group, CN=Connections. In the right pane, select, right-click and delete the connectors. I did this and I was able to successfully remove the Hub Transport Role.

If you are in a migration scenario to Exchange 2010 don't just delete the send connector, go to the send connector properties and remove the Ex2k7 server from the source server list. This will allow you to remove the 2k7 server after doing this. If you delete the send connector, that will do so for the whole organization. This will effect the 2010 server as well.
