Reinstall CAS Role Exchange 2010 SP1 --- Error
I had issues with EWS, so I reinstalled the CAS role. Hoping setup would reinstall EWS correctly. But I get this error, even EWS virtual directory does not exists anymore: What can I do to resolve this issue? Removed with metabase explorer EWS but that didn't fix the issue

Hello, Are there any errors in application logs? Please remove IIS and then reinstall. Check if there exists the problem. If the problem still persists, please use a new iso file to install the CAS role. Best Regards, Lisa

Hi, When you try to reinstall a CAS role, you have to remove the old virtual directory such as owa and ews VD. And , you have to remove other history file and config file such as applicationhost.config . You will find this files under: C:\inetpub\history\cfghistory_000000000X remove them all and try to reinstall. Good luckBest Regards Don't forget to mark it as answer if it helps

got the same problem I also got trouble with EWS first I tried to recreate the Exchange Virtual Directories then I tried to recreate them but got error that the object is not found on the DC :-( second I tried to reinstall the CAS but also got the problem (see Screenshot above) But I ran into this problem in a mixed Exchange Org ( Exchange 2k10 and Exchange 2k7 SP3 Rollup 5 ) but on the Exchange 2k7 Server the problem exists also there! Deinstall of IIS didn't solved the problem. Reinstall of CAS Role not possible also by setup.com it was not working :-(
