Hi, I'm facing an issue of sharing the workbook I created using a power query from an SQL server cube. The query was modified in power pivot to add new columns and calculated fields, then summarized with pivot tables and slicers to create a dashboard. I am simply trying to email the workbook to select others in the organization (who also have access to the server). Users are unable to refresh the model upon receiving it. The error reads: Class not registered. Microsoft.Mashup.OleDb.1 is not registered. Is there a solution to this? Any information is much appreciated.
Hi Dalexan,
According to your description, you use power query as data source, but when refreshing the data, you get an error Class not registered. Microsoft.Mashup.OleDb.1 is not registered, right?
Based on my research, we find that power query is not supported as data source. So this is the cause of the error you got. For your requirement, you can use OLEDB driver to connect to SQL server and make sure that you specify the same host name in power
pivot connection that was used in datasource definition for a gateway. For more detail information, please refer to this thread:
