Redirect emails in OWA and Outlook 2010 not working in Exchange 2013

I have an new install of Exchange 2013 with all updates.

When I setup an inbox rule to redirect messages to another contact it is not working.

When I used Outlook 2010 and ran the rule manually I received this error:

"the redirect action is not currently supported with run rules now"

It seems that I didn't setup up something correctly in Exchange 2013 or a feature is not turned on. Please assist.

In the EM console when I setup forwarding that is working. Its the inbox rule redirect not working.

Do any of these commands have something to do with it?

                -AutoReplyEnabled $True -AutoForwardEnabled $True

Hi,

From your description, I recommend you use the following cmdlet to ensure that the DeliverToMailboxAndForward parameter is set to $True.

Get-Mailbox <identity> | fl DeliverToMailboxandForward

If this parameter is false, you can use the Set-Mailbox cmdlet to set it and check the result.

Hope this can be helpful to you.

I ran the following command as instructed:

[PS] C:\Windows\system32>Set-Mailbox my mailbox -DeliverToMailboxandForward $true
[PS] C:\Windows\system32>Get-Mailbox my mailbox | fl DeliverToMailboxandForward

DeliverToMailboxAndForward : True

then I sent an email to the mailbox expecting it to be "redirected" to the one I configured in the inbox rules but did not receive it. I still believe the inbox rules for "redirect" are not turned on somehow.

Therefore I went to Outlook 2010 and manually ran my inbox rules and I still get the error message:

"the redirect action is not currently supported with run rules now"

What command do I need to run to turn this on so that they are supported?

Outlook is in the online mode.

I did a test in cache and online mode. Still no go.

I deleted the rule in Outlook 2010 and created an new rule with the same parameters.
Mail sent to the mailbox is forwarded to a contact in the contact list.
I then sent an email to the mailbox from an outside source.
The mail arrived in the mailbox.
So I checked the delivery reports and the message had not been sent checking the reports.
I then manually ran the rule in Outlook 2010 and did not receive the previous error.
However, it did show in the delivery reports that the message was finally sent but did not arrive in the contact's mailbox. I checked junk mail folders not luck.
Also the message in the inbox of Outlook 2010 did have a blue forward arrow on it. However, I had to manually run the rule to get that arrow.

I did send a single message to the contact and it arrived as it should.

Still stuck on this.

Hi,

In your case, I recommend you create another Outlook rule or Inbox rule to redirect messages to another user to determine whether the issue is related to this contact.
