Recurring appointment which no longer shows up in resource calendar but time is still unavailable.

We are currently running Exchange Server 2007 version 8.01.0336.  We have a recurring meeting that was booked by a person who is no longer with our company.  When the person left, we disabled her account.  We have re-enabled her account and tried cancelling the meeting that way but it no longer appears on her calendar.  We have run the following command to try to remove it from the system:

Export-Mailbox -Identity <alias> -SenderKeywords "<username>" -IncludeFolders "\Calendar" -DeleteContent

This command said it had deleted a number of items, however this recurring meeting still shows up in the resource calendar.  When we use the meeting scheduler it says there are no conflicts but also that there are no available rooms.  It seems that some aspect of this recurring meeting still exists.

Hi,

According to you post, I understand that the recurring appointment is not show in resource room, however still cannot book calendar in this time range.
If I misunderstand your concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.

I recommend restore delete item,  then try to re-enable problematic mailbox and login OWA to double ensure the appointment is been canceled.
Also assign full permission to administrator for this resource room then open OWA to double confirm whether this appointment still there.

Thanks
