Recurring Appointment Issue Outlook 2010

Scenario:

      • We have an exchange server 2010 and a User with outlook 2010.
      • The User had created a Recurring Appointment in the calendar.
      • User modifies (change time) just one appointment not the whole series and send the updates to attendees.
      • All the attendees get the update and the time for that specific meeting changes for the User (who created the recurring meeting) and attendees as well.
      • Next day, the specific appointment in the User's calendar is back to the original time, the time for the series.
      • User checks attendees and in their calendars the time changed appears correctly.
      • I checked User in OWA and the calendar shows the same as the outlook version.

I am out of ideas, any help or suggestion will be appreciated.

      Thanks in advance.

I suspect this is related to MS Office Outlook and not outlook.com (browser based) where you posted this.  If I am correct please either repost this in the MS Office category for the version you have by using the category tab at the top of the page, or move this thread there.

Hi,

Does the User (the meeting creator) have a delegate? If so, are the User and the delegate running the same build\version of Outlook?

Does the User have his calendar sync with any mobile devices? If so, please try temporarily disable the sync and then try to reproduce the issue.

Here is a KB link referring to an Outlook 2007 hotfix which fixed a similar issue:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/937494

This issue should have been fixed in Outlook 2010. Please make sure you have installed all available updates for Outlook 2010 and then test the issue again.

In addition, we can also enable Outlook Calendar logging to help troubleshooting the issue. The log file contains information for Calendar item actions (creation, modification, or to deletion). See:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/841615

Hope this helps.
