Recreate user but attach old mail database to new user
Because we have two users who won't show in the Global Address List we are going to have to recreate them but I want to attach them to their previous databases? What is the best way to do this? We tried everything with rebuilding the Global address list, etc but nothing so this seems to be our only chance is to recreate them. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Before you recreate the users open the properties of the user accounts using ADUC. Click on the Exchange Advanced tab and make sure the "Hide from Exchange address lists" is unchecked.
If that doesn't work then you can delete the user account and wait for AD to replicate. Then re-create the account, but do not create a mailbox for it. Once the account has been created and AD has replicated, open Exchange System Manager and expand down to the mailboxes folder (Servers\ServerName\StorageGroup\MailboxStore\Mailboxes). Right-click on the Mailboxes folder and choose "Run Cleanup Agent". This should put an red x on any of the mailboxes that have been deleted. Find the mailbox account for the user and right-click on it and choose "Reconnect". Select the recreated account and within a few minutes you should be working again.
Hope this makes sense and helps.

Thanks Eric. Last night I found a link on experts exchange that basically gave these same instructions. The Hide user thing wasn't in affect and rebuilding the default address list didn't seem to help either. I recreated the user just like you instructions stated as well and now both users show up in the list. Thanks for the help, much appreciated. Robbie
