Recovered pst files from a formatted partition
Hi,
I haven't had much luck trying to see if there is a fix for this.
I have a laptop which it's HDD has recently been formatted. However the laptop contained some Outlook
pst files.
I have recovered the files with a piece of recovery software and found the required pst file.
Upon attempting to open in Outlook 2003 it says the file is not a pst file. So, I have run MS scanpst utility to
repair the file. The file can then be opened in Outlook. The file was created in Outlook 2000 but when opened
in either version of Outlook some of the pst sub folders are referred to as lost and found and do not contain
all the emails.
The software I have used is called Recover my files aswell as one called NT Data recovery.
Both tools find the required files but they need to be repaired before opening and viewing in Outlook.
Is there a way that I can open this pst without having to be scanned/repaired? It appears the scanning and
repairing
cuts off some of the data.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thank you
