SBS creates a new Excange Organization (and a new AD forest) during it's creation. You cannot mount an Exchange 2003 database in Exchange 2007, and you also cannot mount a database from another org. You may wish to rebuild the old forest or use a 3rd party tool like digiscope. Mike Crowley Check out My Blog!

If you build a new forest/org with the same names as the old one, including the exchange server name, you should be able to mount it. The fact that it’s sbs isn’t directly relevant, however there may be some special steps required to pick an organization name in sbs. I’m not sure. read here: http://www.computerperformance.co.uk/exchange2003/exchange2003_recovery_alternative_forest.htm Mike Crowley Check out My Blog!

that's fine. exmerge requires a mounted database. Mike Crowley Check out My Blog!
