Receiving Internet mails on my exchange 2003 server.
hi,Please I have registered my domain name with a webhost and i get my mails on their server.i just installed an exchange 2003 server and I am able to send mails to the outside. But to get mails, i depend on a pop3 server for pulling mails into my organization. However I want mails from the internet to be delivered directly to my exchange server. How can I configure the MX entries i got form my ISP to get mails delivered to my exchange 2003 server.thanks.

Hi there, The ISP should configure the MX record on there DNS to poing to your Exchange server, and the replication of the MX record could take some time, What configurations do you have for your internal DNS Server.

What do you mean by configurations for my internal dns server. I am using a private internal network and my domain controller (which is a win 2003 server) is also my primary dns server. so my server dns goes something like 192.168.0.2. My Exchange server (Exchange 2003) is on a member server in my domain and my private network is behind an ISA 2006 firewall. I hope this information serves right.

Hi, I think that you should have your ISP configure the MX record on their DNS to point to your external domain name. The host record of the external domain name should point to the external IP address of the ISA server. For your reference: Using ISA Server 2004 with Exchange Server 2003 http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc713317.aspx Mike
