Re-formatted exchange server - old data still showing up???
Hello, I was having issues with my old exchange server and could not get it to uninstall for the life of me even after following all of the 20 different methods so i decided to scrap it and start fresh. I re-formatted my server and re-installed Server 2003 and Exchange 2007. Just opened up the Management Console and my old server is still listed for selection. Even when i choose my new server it still brings up the old server with ALL of the settings too so i'm stuck. What am i missing. Is there a registry entry on my DC that i need to remove/change or something in AD or DNS? I also just noticed that the Information Store service didnt install this time either....

Hello Mark,
It is suggested/recommended to install the failed server with /RecoverServer switch in temporary server and uninstall it properly from Add/Remove program.

I wouldnt suggest you to remove it from AD with ADSIEdit.msc because as per MS proper way to remove Exchange 2007 is uninstall it properly, however you can refer below thread

BTW, have you installed Mailbox Server roles on new server? You can see Information Store service ifMailboxServer Role is installed.
