RSAT for Vista AD sites and services does not create Licensing Site Settings for New Site creation
Hi all, Adding a new subnet to AD Sites and Services. Created a new site for that particular subnet. Using the one with RSAT on Vista does NOT create a Licensing Site Settings object. Verified that AD Sites and Services from admin pak on XP still creates Licensing Site Settings object inside a newly created site. Is this normal and by design? or is this a bug? Thanks,

I'm assuming you're using the Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT) on Windows Vista with ServicePack 1 to manage Active Directory, aiming the management console at a Windows Server 2003 Domain Controller. qtvinsta wrote: Is this normal and by design? or is this a bug? The full name for what we call RSATin these forums is the Windows Server 2008 Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows Vista Service Pack 1. The name itself implies it is aimed at managing Windows Server 2008 boxes. Some management tasks also work on Windows Server 2003, buta lot ofissues exist. The Remote Server Administration Tools do not seem to be the ideal method for managing Windows Server 2003 from Windows Vista. To prevent issues use the Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 Administration Tools Pack.
