RPC over HTTP outlook connections issue.
Hi, We have Outlook connection issues for some users in specific site. The clients are connected to different domain and servers are having different domains. Users are using outlook 2007 to connect to Exchange Server 2007 through RPC over HTTPS. There is not trust between client domain and server domains. Port 443 is opened on firewall to alloe connections to exchange server. Exchange proxy settings have been configured in Outlook to connect to the user mailbox. Cache mode is ON. Users who have added additional mailboxes and who are managing multiple shared calendars are facing intermittent performance issues. Outook freezes for about 30 40 secs while trying to open email items, attachments, trying to access shared calendars and additional mailboxes. For few users the Outlook gets stuck at Trying to Connect to Exchange Server state and never gets connected. This happens intermittently and connection gets established after some time. Users accessing their primary mailboxes are not facing any issues. We have tried following solution however perfomance is not improving. 1.In Outlook 2007, click Account Settings on the Tools menu. 2.On the Email tab, click to select the Exchange account, and then click Change. 3. Click More Settings. 4.On the Advanced tab, click to clear the Download Shared Folders (excludes mail folders) check box, and then click OK. We have tested connectivity with https://testexchangeconnectivity.com and the results are fine. However the issue is observed mostly by users having multiple mailbox access over RPC over HTTPS. Servers and clients are upto date. Any suggestions / comments or resolution steps for this issue are welcome. Thanks in advance. Thanks
