RPC over HTTP issues
Hello All, We have Parent-Child architecture of Active Directory. We have two exchange server 2003, one in both parent and child domains. I don't have any Front End exchange server. Both exchange servers are configured for RPC over HTTP feature. The users of parent domain exchange server are able to use the RPC over HTTP feature. But users who are in child domain and mailboxes on the exchange of child domain are not able to connect using RPC over HTTP. I have followed all the steps of configuring this in the second server which are mentioned on the Microsoft site. These users when try to use this feature, they get the message that the server is unavailable. We have separate OWA url for both the domains exchange server. Can somebody help me in this issue.

Hi Amit, Try to use www.testexchangeconnectivity.com website and see at what step the request is getting stuck? Also let us know if you see any application or security logs related to RPC over HTTPS that are generated in your event viewer?

Dear customer: To proper assist you to accomplish RPC over HTTP configuration, please help collect the following information: 1. What version is your second Exchange server that resides in the child domain? 2. Is your second Exchange server that resides in the child domain a Global Catalog server? 3. Open ESM, navigate to second Exchange server, right click it and select properties, click RPC-HTTP tab, send the screenshot of it to v-rocwan@microsoft.com for analyze.
