RPC over HTTP
Im in the midst of setting up RPC over HTTP so clients can access their Exchange server over a WAN connection via Outlook 2003. The company has only one server for everything so I followed the instructions found on http://www.petri.co.il/configure_rpc_over_https_on_a_single_server.htm. Im now trying to connect Outlook from outside the network but Im getting Outlook must be online errors. I think the issue rests in the fact that Outlook doesnt trust the certificate I setup on the server, which was done via Windows 2003 built-in certificate authority. I attempted to install the certificate by going to the OWA page with IE7 and installing it. However, every time I go back to the OWA site I get the same warning about the unknown certificate issuer. I also attempted to install the certificate with MMC though I wasnt sure which cert. folder to place it in. 1) If the certificate installed correctly shouldnt the warning and errors in IE7 stop showing themselves? 2) How do I get this certificate installed for RPC over HTTP purposes?

you can manually install the certificate by coping it to the computer running outlook over rpc and install too " trusted root certification authorites". we automatically install the cert through GP to all machines. Hope this helps. P.S ie6 could install the cert no problems.
