RPC Over HTTPs is not working after certificate renewal (Exchange 2007)
Hi All, We have had RPC over https working for some time now. Recently, we renewed our SSL Certificate. Since then, RPC over HTTP is not longer working, always popup the login window even typing correct password!!! But OWA accesss (Https) is ok, I can send/receive mails. More info: SSL cert is purchased fromDigiCert and it's a wildcard ssl cert (*.domainame.com) This ssl cert is imported and enabled to exchange server via powershell, IIS/POP/SMTP/IMAP services are enabled. Client can access https OWA page with no cert error. Exchange 2007 SP1 CAS+Edge Any suggestion? Thanks, Randy

What steps have you taken to diagnose the issue? Have you validated the Outlook clients are actually trying to talk to the CAS server over port 443 (using a network monitor)? Here is a troubleshooting guide as a quick review: http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Troubleshooting-RPC-over-HTTPS-Part1.html

Finally fixed. Yes, If using a wildcard SSL certificate, you should enter the URL as follows in the Principal name for proxy server dialog box: msstd:*.yourdomain.com. BTW. Win2008+Outlook2007 don't need to change proxy server address to *.yourdomain.com", just like "mail.yourdomain.com" as before, I guess that also don't need to change on Vista system,,, Regards,, Randy

Thank you so much!!!!!I was banging my head against the wall and reading blogs for the past 5 days. I read this same guy's post on 4-5 different sites that said he fixed it with a reinstall, but I thought that was ____ and knew that there had to be something else. I also have a wildcard cert from digicert and love it, and now that I found your post about how to use it with Outlook Anywhere i can finally move on to all the other ____ I have to do.I did just as you said and put the msstd:*.domainname.com in and it worked instantly. THANKS!!!
