RE: A ghost in the exchange...?
I work at a 2-year technical college, in the IT department. Our institute is running Exchange Server 2003, with every client on campus (faculty, staff, and student body) having Microsoft Outlook 2007 for their email access. The situation we're having is sporadic at best, but still perplexing... A faculty member can invite another one of the staff or faculty to a standard calendar appointment in Outlook '07. Four out of the five recipients might receive the invite, but the fifth one (we'll name them "Fred") won't receive it. In addition, the originator of the appointment receives an email back, specifying the following: Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients. Subject: testing Sent: 11/05/2008 The following recipient(s) cannot be reached: Jane Doe on 11/05/2008 3:00 PM The email account does not exist at the organization this message was sent to. Check the email address, or contact the recipient directly to find out the correct address. <"Exchange Server Name.domain address #5.1.1> Jane Doe, in this question, hasn't worked at our institute for a year and a half, and has been removed from the active directory, immediately upon her resigning. Somehow, Fred has been resolved with Jane Doe's missing account, in the case of this person sending him any invites. Contact with "Fred" on the domain is otherwise fine, and doesn't seem to try to associate to the missing Jane Doe account. Anyone have any experiencing with this, on their network? I look forward to any feedback; thanks in advance.

Hi, The issue can be caused by the deleted user Jane Doe was a delegate for Fred in the DL. Please open Freds Outlook and remove Jane Doe from his delegates list. [toolsoptionsdelegates] and test the issue again. If the issue persists, please both try to send Fred a meeting request and a common email directly and let me know the result. Thank you, Elvis
