Question on re-starting Information Store on clustered Exchange server
HiWe are running Exchange 2007 SP1in a three node Active/Active/Passive SCC cluster. The OS is Windows 2008 SP2.I need to make a registry key change that requires the restart of the Information Store....Does anyone know how I can make this change? The Information Store is a clustered resource, so I assume that if I restart this service then the virtual Exchange server will fail over to the passive node? Also, not sure how I can make the change on the passive node, since the Information Store is stopped since there are no Exchange services running? Thanks in advance.

Thumb rule, make changes on the node which you want to have as active node. So failover the active node to passive node, make changes to the active nodes and then fail it back. It is as good as applying a SP or any critical patch to the cluster, http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb676559.aspxRaj

Hi RajThanks, but I'm not quite understanding.Let's say I have physcial nodes PExch1, PExch2, and PExch3. And I have virtual nodes VExch1 and VExch2.At the moment:PExch1 > VExch1PExch2 > VExch2PExch3 > PassiveSo, should I make the registry key change on PExch1 or PExch2 first, or PExch3?Thanks again.

First will be PExch1 (after failing over to Pexch3). Same with Pexch2 (after failing over to Pexch3)and the finally on Pexch3.Raj
