Question about setup /PrepareSchema - Prepping AD for E2k7SP1
I'm trying to install the Exchange Server 2007 (x64) SP1. The docs say to prep the active directory prior to installation. I'm following this article for the ad prep: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125224.aspx When I get to step #2 (step #1 is skipped) and run setup /ps from a command prompt, I get a small dialog from 'Windows Setup' that pops up and says "Please go to the Control Panel to install and configure system components." with only an OK button on it. Is that normal? If not, what am i doing wrong. I am just starting this process (SP1 install) and this is the very first step I've performed. This is my only Exchange server.

Ok, I figured out that the setup.exe I needed to run was on the SP1 download. So I ran that setup /ps and got the following error:C:\tempdir>setup /psWelcome to Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Unattended SetupPreparing Exchange SetupNo server roles will be installedPerforming Microsoft Exchange Server Prerequisite Check Organization Checks ......................... Is this your first installation of Exchange 2010 in the environment? Initially I would say you most likely have a bad image that you are trying to run from, first try to re-download and run it again. Making sure of course you have enough disk space and you are running it on an appropriate server (ie. Windows 2008 R2). I'd also confirm your domain and forest functional levels are all correct just to be sure. Let me know how it goes. Thanks, Jorge Jorge R.
