Galmod is the solution for previous versions of Exchange, and I think is it the solution for 2007: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=272198 I am still checking to see if something new exists. Regards, Jeremy

Hi, Details Template Editor can help you to customize the appearance of the object properties that are accessed by using address lists in MAPI 32-bit client applications, such as Microsoft Outlook. Outlook actually acts as a client which has no ability to update personal information. Furthermore, in Outlook Cached mode, recipients in GAL are queried from the Offline Address Book (OAB). OAB is a copy of address lists downloaded from Exchange server. In this scenario, Outlook doesn't communicate with directory servers for personal information at all. Besides, objects that we can modify via Details Template Editor is to change field sizes, add or remove fields, add or remove tabs, and rearrange fields. Managing Details Templates http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb232094(EXCHG.80).aspx So, I thinks it is not a method to let users to update their personal information. Base on my research, we have GAL Modify tool to let users update attributes on their own accounts against the server that is running Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server or Microsoft Exchange Server 2003.But for Exchange 2007,we do not find any utility from Microsoft. For your reference, I found Directory Update tool written by Jim McBee . Directory Update is a "self-service" solution that allows a user to update their own information in the Active Directory. More information about Directory Update: Directory Update http://www.directory-update.com/ Important Note: Microsoft provides third-party contact information to help you find technical support.
