Putting a CAS in Disaster Recovery
We are currently working on out DR configuration for exchange 2007. I am worried about autodiscovery issues if I put another CAS server in our DR location. The CAS server will be in a differnt site, different URL and a different SSL Cert, but my main concern is that some users will be directed down to DR when using Autodiscovery. Our DR site is a live site, meaning it is up all the time. Is this something I need to be worried about? Do I need to setup CAS Site Affinity? Please let me know if there someone has any thoughts or concerns.

Hi, Based on my research, there is no known issue when adding a new CAS server in the DR site. After adding a new CAS server, a new SCP will be added. Outlook will build in-site list, and try to contact one SCP, usually the oldest SCP object will be used in the list; if none can be contacted, an out-site lists will be built. For more information, please refer to the following article: http://james2exchange.wordpress.com/2010/07/14/outlook-anywhere-summary/ Meanwhile, if there are only two AD sites with two CAS servers, you need not setup CAS Site Affinity since the feature is usually used when there are more than three CAS servers.
