Publisher 2013 Grouping objects - resize group area border without affecting size of contained objects.

Hello,

I am working with Publisher 2013, trying to achieve a task that was simple in earlier versions of Publisher: to change the area size of a group (containing picture/text objects), without affecting the aspect ratio/size of the contained objects i.e. I've created a group of objects and need to resize just the border/area of the group - without affecting the contained objects per resizing etc.

I hope this makes sense, and that someone can assist.  Thank you!

Hi,

I did a test in Publisher 2010 and Publisher 2013, I haven't found an obvious difference.

Is it convenient for you to provide a publication to detail this a bit? You can send the details to our email address:

Hi Melon,

Thank you for your response.  I am looking to get a version to you.

However, could you point me to directions on how to change just the border size of a group of shapes (pictures and text box) without changing the size/aspect ratio of the contained shapes in the group in Publisher 2013.

Best,

Steven

Can somebody please instruct me on how I can change the area (extend border limits) of a group of objects in Publisher 2013 - without effecting the size/shape of included objects.  Currently when I try and increase the area of a group the objects are being resized/proportioned, so I'm missing something...

Thank you!

Hi,

Based on my knowledge, once the objects are grouped, we can consider it as ONE object, and resizing the border will resize its size, including all the objects made of it. It seems to be by design.

By the way I've merged this thread to your other thread regarding this question.
