Public folders stuck in Mail queue when replicating to Exchange 2010
This last weekend I installed Exchange 2010. Moved everyone over the same night to the new server. Mail flows in and out in ex 2010. The problem is I can't get the Public folders to replicate across. At the same time I found I can't send mail between the two exchange servers. In the message Queue on the Ex 2007 box I see the public folders are just sitting there waiting to be sent but stuck. Along with my test emails. I found an artical that talks about going into ADSIEdit and delete the old exchange 2003 empty server folder. Did that and email is still not flowing. Servers are in the same AD same subnet. ex 2007 is installed on a 2003 box. ex 2010 is on 2008r2. Thanks, Steve

First you need to check the status of mail flow, is the mail flow working from 2007 to 2010 or Vis a Versa? Are you using Smart Host? Try with DNS and see what happens and POST the result Gulab | MCTS-MCITP Messaging: 2010 | MCTS-MCITP Messaging: 2007 | MCC 2011 | Skype: Gulab.Mallah

Mail is not flowing between the sites. The mail gets stuck in the queue on each server. Log into a mailbox on each server and attempt to send mail. I get emails back saying they are attempting to send the mail and will keep trying. What do you mean try with DNS?

Yes we use a smarthost for outbound. OKay a little change of whats going on. I created a new mailbox over at the Exchange 2007 and I was able to send email from Exchange 2010 to exchange 2007. But when attempting reply its stuck in the queue Hub Version 14 on the exchange 2007 box. The email in the queue has error 400 4.4.7 Message Delayed. Thanks for your help!

The 2007 exchange server is standalone. No edge server.

Hi vasdavidson, For this issue, I suggest you follow these steps to troubleshoot the problem: 1. Please paste the exact error you got in queue viewer. 2. On Exchange 2007, (use telnet) send emails to Exchange 2010, then check whether it can receive email or not. Give Exchange Server and Legacy Exchange Server permission and Exchange Server Authentication on the Receive Connector if missing.Gulab | MCTS-MCITP Messaging: 2010 | MCTS-MCITP Messaging: 2007 | MCC 2011 | Skype: Gulab.Mallah

yes, this might be the reason, please check permissions on the exchange 2010 HT server for the recieve connector permissioons. you may want to allow legacy exchange servers or anynomous and retry queue from exchange 2007 server Thank youDhruv
