Public folder replication from 2003 to 2007
Hi All Right some back ground We have an Exchange 2003 organisation all servers are in the US, we also have an Exchange 2007 environment all in same domain the Exchange 2007 servers are in the UK So what we are doing in the UK is Migrating from 2007 on 2003 physical boxes over to 2007 on Virtual boxes, which in the whole is going really smoothly untill the public folders So what I am trying to do is replicate the required system public folders and some other public folders over to the new Virtual 2007 mailbox server. I do this from the 2003 EMS, right click the folder choose replication and add the new Mailbox server to the list of replication partners Once this is done I can see the folder structure is replicated over, but no contents, I have tried removing the old server from the replica list but still nothing replicates Any Idea what the problem could be

Hello For Pubilc Folder Replication you can use EMS from Exchange 2007 to add the replica's from scirpts. This will add replica of public folders on Exchange Server 2003 to Exchange Server 2007. This is the simplest way to add replica of all PFs to Exchange 2010 PF database. C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\Scripts.>.\AddReplicaToPFRecursive.ps1 -TopPublicFolder "\" -ServerToAdd "exchange2007" Once the replica is added the next step is to move the replica from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007. To do this, jump to scripts directory and run following command. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb288905(EXCHG.80).aspx C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\Scripts>.\MoveAllReplicas.ps1 -Server "Exchange2003" -NewServer "Exchange2007 Later on you can remove the exchange legacy server http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb288905(EXCHG.80).aspx Thanks Mhussain

Hi If you are performing this procedure as part of a migration from Exchange Server 2003 to Exchange Server 2007, you can use either Exchange System Manager in Exchange 2003 or the Exchange Management Console in Exchange 2007 to move Exchange 2003 public folders to an Exchange 2007 server. For more information about migrating public folders, see the Microsoft Exchange Team blog article, Moving Public Folder Replicas from Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2007. For more information about removing public folder databases, see Removing Public Folder Databases. If you want to try another way or emc doesn’t work, you can try EMS to do it. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb331970(EXCHG.80).aspx
