Usually, the public folder data will be saved in a PST file. Can’t you move the messages from zipped folder back to the public folder via outlook?James Luo TechNet Subscriber Support (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/ms788697.aspx) If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com

My Friend. The Data is not on a PST folder. All the emails are on Folders on the D: drive on the Desktop. Not sure how this guy moved the emails to that desktop. This is the path that shows on the public folder when the emails are on the desktop http://ComputerName/aaWeb/msg.aspx?g=220f7536-09d4-48a5-ac74-4e78482e6765

Quote: “path that shows on the public folder” So, when users attempt to access the items in a specific public folder by clicking them in the outlook, they get a URL path in the Internet Explorer instead of opening the items? Can’t you drag & drop the items from drive back to public folder in the outlook?James Luo TechNet Subscriber Support (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/ms788697.aspx) If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com

When users attempt to access the items in a specific public folder by clicking them in the outlook, they get a URL path in the Internet Explorer instead of opening the items?YesIf I drag and drop the files, It will copy the compress email and not the email.I can decompress all the emails and move then back. But I have 1000's of email and 100's of folder.I was thinking if I can rename the computer using the old path and create an Virtual Directory or something like that.

I think it’s better to move the items back, so users can access the content from the public folder database which is the expected behavior. And, it will avoid the potential issue for users James Luo TechNet Subscriber Support (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/ms788697.aspx) If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com

Per my knowledge, there’s no feature that can move/copy a folder directly to the public folder in the exchange or outlook I would suggest you to find how somebody archives the public folders into the drive, then it may be able to use the same method to revert it backJames Luo TechNet Subscriber Support (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/ms788697.aspx) If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com
