Public Folder database issues with disappearing folders
We had some issues with our Public Folder database so we had to do a full database restore. Once the restore was complete, the DB mounted and all was good. Sometime last night folders started going missing for unknown reasons, this looks to be system related. Unsure what to do, we're doing another restore at the moment.d

Crank up diagnostic logging on replication and see if folder replication requests for those missing folders are firing. If there is a small number, you may want to copy them to a pst before doing the restore. What issues did you have that required a restore? I typically do not recommend restoring a pf back into production that has replication partners. Depending on your situation, you may want to restore to a recovery forest and export the folders to a pst. But I dont know how many folders we are talking about here or your architecture.

I will turn up some logging and see what we see. The folders that disappeared don't have replication partners.d

When was the backup taken that you are restoring? It suggests that it doesnt have the folders that are disapearing in that backup.

Turning up the logging showed alot of replication issues. Our overall issue was our folder structure was messed up and the messed up side was newer so it was replicating to the other side. We restored both sites and are back in business.d
