Are there any risks associated with public folders in outlook?

public folder storms, little outside Outlook but issues arisng from outlook, such as recovery of public folders, not as easy as with mailboxes.Sukh

Loss of control. Inability to easily identify ownership. Replication troubleshooting can be difficult. Migration to next Exchange versions can be long and painful. Poor toolsets to manage. No true high-availibility.

Too many owners, again whats the real issues? Whats the potential impact? How can you tell who can delete what the shouldnt, whos the owners, and what are the general best practice to mitigate all the risks you mention?
