Public Folder Referral
Hello, I have a Public Folder Database on mailbox server 1 and I want that in the eventuality that server 1 is down, Public Folders are still accessable from mailbox Server 2. Should I create a Public folder database on server 2 and manually update each Public Folder to replicate to server 2 ? what is the Public Folder Referral and where do I set it to replicate to server 2 Public folder database ?

You are correct, you just need to create a PF database on server 2 and set it as a replica on each public folder. You dont need to setup any referrals as since there will only be 2 servers it will handle it itself.DJ Grijalva | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010 | www.persistentcerebro.com

Hi If you're using Exchange 2007 or 2010 you can use this script This will add replica of public folders on Exchange Server 2003 to Exchange Server 2010. This is the simplest way to add replica of all PFs to Exchange 2010 PF database. C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\Scripts>.\AddReplicaToPFRecursive.ps1 -TopPublicFolder "\" -ServerToAdd "exchange2010"Jonas Andersson MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010 | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010 | Blog: http://www.testlabs.se/blog | Follow me on twitter: jonand82
