Public Folder Permissions
Hi We have many public folders divided by departments. I want to prevent people from looking into another departments folders. The permissions are: Default : Reviewer (Folder visible is checked) Deptment AD Group: Publishing Author Anonymous: Contribuitor PF Admins: Owner Can I just remove the check box from Folder Visible on the Default permissions? Will this have an impact somewhere else on the Public Folders? Thanks maelitoismael

Hi, Yes! if all public folders are with appropriate permissions on Department AD Group then you can remove Default and Anonymous from client permission set of all Public folder. Default permission let every one in the domain access/view particular public folder and anonymous permission will let everyone able to view without authenticating. if you have any application which is using any public folder, make sure you exclude that and exclude System folders as well. Yes, agree with Vishal here... You can also change Default Reviewer permission to just Folder Visible (Tick Read to None). Simulate the situation with setting this on one of the departmental PF, later you can use PFDavAdmin to set same for all folders recursively...
