Public Folder Folder Assistant rules not working for external email
I am trying to setup folder assistant rule to automatically redirect e-mail from outside domains to another public folder(E2k3). The rule I setup is From: @ousidedomain.com perform these actions: Delete and Forward to AnotherPF@mydomain.com. When I telnet to our exchange server spoofing an @outsidedomain.com address the rule is processed correctly and performs as intended.... unfortunately real mail from this domain never gets forwarded. Any ideas?

I found this post http://forums.msexchange.org/m_1800441912/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm#1800441912 with someone having the same problem as me and he says it has to do with the display name which would explain why my telnet e-mail worked. If that is true is there a way around it so I can forward everything from a domain?

Hi Lobstrosity, I would suggest that when you ask a question, it is better to describle more detailed information for your issue. Such as: which version of your outlook, which version for your exchange server and so on. Per my known, if you want to forward all mail to special mailbox enabled public folder from a special dmoain, it is impossible to achieve the target through outlook end, you could achieve your target through creating transport rule on the server. Yet how to create the rule, it is depended on which version of exchange do you use. Regards! Gavin

Gavin-Zhang, I apologize if my previous posts were not very clear. As I said in my first post I am using Exchange 2003 (sp2 specifically) and trying to do this using the public folder folder assistant rules. As you said this can't be done using the client rules which is why I didn't specify our client version which is currently a 2k3/2k7 mix. I had not thought about using transport rules, but I would rather utilize the public folder folder assistant if possible. It seems to me this would be a pretty common task and one that the PF folder assistant was specifically created to deal with. Is it possible to forward all mail from one domain in a public folder to another public folder using the folder assistant rules? Thanks,
