Public Folder Display in Exchange 2000
I recently used the eseutil /d command to defrag both my priv1 and pub1 edb files. I also ran the isinteg -s with the -fix and alltests options. After I mounted the stores, I noticed that one of my public folders will not display any email, even though it shows that there are 9000 emails in the folder. The Outlook window is clear when I select this particular public folder. All my other folders are displaying correctly. I have reran the defrags and integrity checks to no avail. I have changed my viewing options in Outlook to no avail. I cannot figure out why this public folder will not display email. Any thoughts?

Can you see the contents with ESM or OWA? Otherwise could items be in the 'dumpster' from some delete operation? "Recovering items from public folders is very similar to the mailbox method, although the URL needs to be adjusted and you can use different credentials. To recover the deleted items from a public folder, enter the following URL, with the required adjustments: http://servername/public/rootfolder/subfolder/?cmd=showdeleted Change the "servername" to be your Exchange server's name. Change the rest of the path to match the path to the parent of the folder that you deleted. For example, if you deleted a folder called "John" which was a sub folder of a folder called Diary which was part of a folder called Staff, then the URL would be: http://servername/public/staff/diary/?cmd=showdeleted When you are prompted to login, use Administrator credentials if possible, to avoid any security issues. The folder that you deleted should be shown. Select it and choose Recover. Close OWA and Internet Explorer, as the authentication information could be cached by logging in this way. No, in Outlook it just says "Loading..." and never loads. In the shortcut bar, it shows (120) not read. Outlook shows that there is over 9000 emails in the folder, but the display is clear....?

"NO" as in you don't see content in ESM or Webmail? 9000 items in one folder would lock outlook up and take it a while to load. Have you let it sit for an hour or so?

Sorry. I meant OWA just shows loading. It's my journal folder where a copy of all email goes. I've never had trouble with it before, and it's gotten a lot higher than 9000. I usually clear it monthly, and that's about 15,000 emails a month. But after I ran that defrag and integrity check, I can't see anything. The total number is increasing, so I know the Archive function is working. But I can't view it...?
