Public Folder Backup via Outlook PST | Exchange 2007
Hi All,
Is there a way one can automate outlook 2007 to start, export all public folders as PST file and close via windows batch / powershell ?
I am doing this weekly, but would be helpful if we could do this daily after hours.
I have tried google and it reveals nothing which would automate this process or is there a way we can Export Public Folders via Exchange Shell command line ?
What methods is everyone using to backup public folders ?
We do have backup in place (backing up the whole exchange box)
Will be grateful for your assistance.

There are 3rd party products that can help, but I dont see the point of archiving everything to a pst.

If you are doing full backups and have deleted item retention set, why the need to do this?

Is it possible to control outlook via Batch file / powershell and export public folders to pst - so I can schedule it too ?
Not worried about the mailboxes on this site as the backup software has GRT but only for Mailboxes
On Another site - I am looking to schedule a PS-script to Export mailboxes to a un-used storage (NAS ) they have ...

Hi RIHATUM,
Per your description, you want to backup the public folder information for the users, if they want to recover something, right?
Per my known, there are some methods to backup the public folder database, and there are methods about how to recover the information from the backup. Such as ntbackup and server backup, you could use them to backup the database what you want. Some information
