Public Cert for Exchange 2007 OWA
Hello, we need to install a public cert for our OWA site on our exchange 2007 server. Does anyone know of any good articles that explain the process step by step? Also, correct me if I'm wrong but in order to get a cert from somewhere like godaddy, don't you have to first create a CSR on your server? My client just sent me the crt file from Go Daddy but I'm pretty sure he didn't create a CSR so I'm wondering if this cert will work. Thank you.

Here is a link to a good Exchange 2007 cert article. Also you do need to create the CSR on the Exchange server and process that request on the server. If you just have a crt file, chances are you don't have the private key with it, so it is useless. Read the articles and let me know if you need further help. http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2007/04/30/438249.aspx http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb851505(EXCHG.80).aspx http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb310795(EXCHG.80).aspx http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2007/02/19/435472.aspxTim Harrington - Catapult Systems - http://HowDoUC.blogspot.com

Hi, Yes, you need to create a CSR. Then submit to public CA to request a certificate for your exchange server. Please see the following thread. It shows that how to request a certificate from local CA. . http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrsecuremessaging/thread/37cf60b4-c31f-49aa-9068-ae5934af8950
