Property Sheets in Access 2010 very slow

Hi everyone,

I'm running a clean install of Win8 Ent on am Dell E6520 i7 with 8Gb of RAM. I have all the latest and greatest drivers from Dell and patches from MS. The laptop is performing really well...

However, when I have a property sheet open in Access 2010 it takes from 5 to 20s to redraw - every time the focus changes! At least one thread goes dilly during this time.

Does anybody have a suggestion on how to get the performance right?

BTW, the accdb is on the local HDD in a trusted directory and compacted and repaired. The DB is only 2.5Mb in size. A blank DB has the same issue.

Thanks,
Andy

Hi,
From your description, I notice you had repaired the Access DB, and a blank DB had the same issue.
So I suppose that the issue caused by the Access program.
I recommend you do following steps to check the issue:
Try to start Access in safe mode. Then, open the Access file.
Start the Access program in safe mode
1.       Click Start, point to All Programs, and then point to Microsoft Office.
2.        Press and hold the CTRL key, and then click the Microsoft Access.
If the problem does not occur in the safe mode, this issue might be related to some third-party add-ins in the Access program, we can try to disable them.
Normally, you could do the following to disable the conflict add-ins in your Access program:
Disable add-ins
If the issue still exists, try to try to test this issue in the clean boot mode.

I hope its helps
