Programatically send from a public folder.
Our developers want to programatically send messages from a mail-enabled Exchange 2007 public folder. They have a number of apps that use an Outlook profile to programitacally send from a mailbox, but is there any way to send programatically from a public folder? Thank you, Logan Burt

I doubt it, the PF is not an account per se. Can your app not spoof the PF email address?James Chong MCITP | EA | EMA; MCSE | M+, S+ Security+, Project+, ITIL msexchangetips.blogspot.com

Thank you very much for your reply. I wasn't sure if it would be possible, and you've confirmed that it isn't possible. I have told the developers that their app will have to generate and send SMTP itself with the return address spoofed as that of the PF. Since it will go out the same gateway as our Exchange email, there should be no problem with anything like SPF. Thanks again for confirming this.
