Product key won't work for activation
Something bad happened to my computer during a routineinstallation of a Microsoft update.Microsoft says myproduct keynumber is incorrect. I typed in the 25 characterproduct key locatedon the bottom of my computer and during the Microsoft activation processit says it's incorrect. I have 9 days left for activation. I am not sure what will happen if I don't get this problem fixed. I bought the laptop used. I have been getting updates for six months. Is it possible that while I gave information to Microsoft during the activation process they noticed my name is not the name of the original owner of the computer and that is why they rejected the product key I gave them? I won't be able to find his name. I triple checked the product key so I know I have entered the right characters. I would really appreciate any advice or a referral to someone or user group that can give me some advice. Thank you Brian
