Product key entry Exchange 2010 insufficient access rights
I'm trying to enter the product key for Exchange 2010 and I'm getting the error below. The account I'm using is an enterprise/org/domain admin. There is an Exchange 2003 server in the organization. The domain is 2003 native and I have gotten 2010 installed (mailbox/hub transport roles). I haven't deployed my CAS server yet. Anybody have an idea? Here's the error with business data removed. Summary: 1 item(s). 0 succeeded, 1 failed. Elapsed time: 00:00:01 MAIL-SERVER Failed Error: Active Directory operation failed on DC.FQDN. This error is not retriable. Found the problem. Had nothing to do with Exchange 2010 or the domain. Turns out my Exchange 2003 root organization had it's check box unchecked for the allow inheritable permissions setting. Once I clicked that I was able to enter the product key. You'll need to enable the secuirty page in regedit, see: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/264733

Hello, We are having the same issue. I have done what you said above but the problem still exists? Thanks James
