Problems with the Display Name
Hi everyone,I'm using Exchange 2003 and my problem is that I've configured all my users with the Display Name on the Active Directory like this: Departament (Name Surname), e.a. System Administrator (G Aranda), ok???The trouble is that I want that my message go out of the organization, is changed to this Fromvalue:G Aranda (My business). I can't change this on the display name because my director is a little bit confused about the name of the workers, he say that he don't want to know the name of everyone (normal, isn't it??? we are only 50 persons :D).well.. actually I want that on the display name show a format like "Departament (Name)" on the business address book inside the Outlook and when they send the mail, doesn't matters that is internal or external to the organization, the from format must be like "Name (Business)".If someone can help me... I will be very pleased, but the rest of the organization, will be more than me :)Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english,G Aranda.

Hey G Aranda, Set simple display name in Exchange advance tab which will be used for external email, install below hotfix and set registry key to enable that feature in Exchange 2003 SP2. You cannot configure Exchange 2003 so that the simple display name appears in outgoing messages http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888416 Amit Tank | MVP - Exchange | MCITP:EMA MCSA:M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

Hello,I have the SP2 installed. This patch is included on this revision. When I tried to installa this, the message is very clear:"this revision is only for Exchange SP1"On the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem\ there is no key inside the folder with "Use Simple Display Name" text. I tried to fill up this with the right data, but when I send, it doesn't work properly. Show the "normal" name.

Cool, have you restarted Information Store service after changing registry? If doesn't work, try restarting Exchange server too...Amit Tank | MVP - Exchange | MCITP:EMA MCSA:M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com
