Problems with DirectX 9.0c in XP
I just installed Sims 2 yesterday, after a search kind of all over my apartment. But once I tried to play it a message came up that said it couldn't find the DirectX 9.0c graphics adapter...and after another long search, I've discovered that I do in fact have DirectX 9.0c, but that something must be wrong with another part of it. I followed the directions here, but when I go to the DX Diagnostics "Display" tab, there IS no option for "Enable." (All it says beside the three things is 'Not Available' and 'Disable', and I can't click the 'Disable'.) I must've tried installing DirectX a million times over the past 24 hours but it isn't fixing THIS problem...and I would call or chat with Microsoft Support but it costs $60. Also, I have Windows XP. Any ideas what the problem is?
