Problems updating meetings after Active Directory user account renamed.
We are having an annoying issue on our exchange system. We have Exchange 2007 sp3 + rollup 5. Clients are on Outlook 2003, 2007 or 2010. We can reproduce the issue.... After a user account is renamed in Active Directory (eg due to getting married), they are then unable to update any meetings in their calendar which have other recipients. Message they get is "You do not have permission to send the message on behalf of the specified user". Only problem is, its the same user, its just that they were UserOne@domain, but now renamed to UserTwo@domain. so Same Mailbox, same User Profile and Home directory, just different display name, samaccountname etc. I've tried google, but not found anything helpful. On a test user, whilst "SELF" was already listed as having full mailbox access and send as rights, I specifically granted the test user account the same rights, but hasn't helped. Any assistance on this would be appreciated.

What all do you rename? What attributes?Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Looking through the script we run to rename users, the following are updated: samaccountname givenname sn displayname userprincipalname also, their primary smtp email address changed to match their new user name, and a new, secondary, e-mail address created matching their old address (so that external people can still contact them). I believe their x400 address is also updated.

I've never heard of that before. All I can suggest is that you open a ticket with Microsoft Support and report it as a bug if you can reproduce it. However, with support ending for Exchange 2007 pretty soon given its age, you're probably not going to get much traction on it.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Hi mpw1 Agree with ED The requirements you asked I think they are out of boundary, and not suitable to be Completed here. Also, another suggestion is have a try on Exchange Develop forum http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/exchangesvrdevelopment/threads Hope that helps CheersZi Feng TechNet Community Support
