Problems setting up existing AD user on exchange 2003
Hi, I am trying to migrate a number of users to an Exchange 2003 server. When I go through thesteps to create an email box it seems to create okay. However when it comes to setting the users up on Outlook 2007 I get an error that the name could not be resolved against the address list. However, if I set up a brand new user, the AD account and the exchange mailbox are created okay and can be configured in Outlook. Does anyone know why this is happening? TIA, Conor

Hi Conor, 1. Please Open ESM->Recipients->All Global Address Lists->Default Global Address List 2. Right click Default Global Address List and click Preview 3. Please check whether you are able to locate the migrated user If the migrated user can be located in the Preview, please run Adsiedit.msc tool and locate the migrated user. Please check the attribute showinaddressbook of the migrated user. Let me know whether the Default Global Address List has been set in the attribute. If the Default Global Address List has been set, please troubleshoot RUS issue by refer to following KB. Please understand that RUS component is responsible to update the attribute. How to troubleshoot the Recipient Update Service by using the Application log in Exchange 2000 Server or in Exchange Server 2003 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822794/en-us If the Default Global Address List has been set correctly, please check whether any AD replication issue exists.
