Problems getting a Mac OSX computer connected to Small Business Server 2003
Hi there- I have now tried unsucessfully to connect a Mac OSX 10.4.10 to a Small Business Server 2003. I have created the user on the Server, given the appropriate folders on the server access to this user. I have given that same user Admin rights as well. I have also found a document on How to Connect Mac to SBS and followed this to the letter but still have the same problems. If I am on the Mac and I use the Connect To Server feature, using smb://FTWSERVER/ Users I fill in the correct Domainname, Usersname and Password _ keep getting the message back on the Mac "Could not connect to the server because the nam or password in not correct" I have tried even using the servers admin UN & PW but I get the same message. I tried connecting from the Mac to a Vista Machine and it connects no problems, and the same experience with a WinXP Pro machine, also no problem. The Mac can Ping the server and also the server name appears when I look at my Network Icon I can see all the other workstations and the server and ifI Connect to the server using this icon then I get the message about "Delete Alias" " the alias FTWserver cannot be opened because the original item cannot be found" - so I select Delete Alias and I then get the message "The operation cannot be completed because you do not have suffiecient privileges for "FTWServer""? I even used the SBS's administrator login to try that and that still gave me the same problem? Solution or suggestions needed Thanks
