Problem with transaction logs piling up the Storage Group folders
Hi, Can someone tell me if there's an article about transaction logs not purging automatically. I got this problem with my new employer, they have 28 storage groups with 1 db on each SG. The mailbox servers is clustered using Exchange 2007 ccr. Only two SGs have no problem with their transaction logs, the rest are all problematic. Transaction logs are piling up on each SG folders except for the two SGs. I need to manually clear those transaction logs that are 2days+ older. Hope you can help me on this. Thanks and regards, Allan

Hi 1. Transaction logs are very important to recover database. So they won’t be deleted automatically until full backup is completed. This is Article about transaction logs. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb331951(EXCHG.80).aspx 2. Enable Circular Logging for a Storage Group. It won’t generate log and delete log automatically. You can read this article. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb331968(EXCHG.80).aspx
