Problem with the offline address list
Hi, I've a problem with the offline address book. The problem is that users that use the outlook cache mode can't see the new users that I create. Preface is that we had crash on our main DC and we have to reinstall the domain controller from the beginning But when they install the new domain they change the domain name that was used before the crash. After that they reinstall the exchange server and restore the exchange database from backup and tweak the database with the utility legacy dn that change the OU inside the database. The mailbox was mount successfully and they link the users to the mailbox. I pretty sure that the offline address list isn't working because of this event and database tweak. My question is how I can fix this error in the offline address list ? Can I remove all the thing that relate to the offline address book and create them with the new an right settings? those are the errors that i get when i try to rebuild the OAB in the ESM --error 1 OALGen encountered error 8004010f while loading the template /O=TAMAM/cn=Configuration/cn=Addressing/cn=Address-Templates. All display templates will not be available for the client download. - Offlin Address list --error 2 OALGen encountered error 8004010f (internal ID 500089c) while building the address or display template files on Active Directory DC1 for address list '\Global Address List' . - Offlin Address list -error 3 OALGen encountered error 8004010f while calculating the offline address list for address list '\Global Address List'. This offline address list will not be available for client download. - Offlin Address list THX

Hi, Please attempt the following method to troubleshoot the issue: Use ADSIEdit and set the LegacyExchanegDN for "Address-templates" and "Display-templates" and "Address-Type" as follows: The LegacyExchaengDn for "Address-templates" and "Display-templates" should be set to: O=OrgName/cn=Configuration/cn=Addressing/cn=Address-Templates O=OrgName/cn=Configuration/cn=Addressing/cn=Display-Templates The LegacyExchangeDN for "Address-type" should not be set. It should say: "Not Set" Note: To avoid spelling errors, copy The DN in the event id 9305 into the "Address-templates" and "Display-templates" LegacyExchanegDN attribute using ADSIEdit After that, please recreate Offline Address Book to test the issue. I've found the path in the ADSIEdit and it's like you wrote. /o=First Organization/cn=Configuration/cn=Addressing/cn=Address-Templates /o=First Organization/cn=Configuration/cn=Addressing/cn=Display-Templates and the "Address-type" = "Not Set" what else i can check to work this problem out? THX

Please also attempt the following method to troubleshoot the issue: Authenticated Users group needs Read permission on the Address Templates and Display Templates when generate OAB file. If the permission missed or denied, the error will also be encountered. By default, the Read permission is inherited from Addressing object. Therefore, I suggest you use Adsiedit.msc tool to check the permission on following objects and ensure the Authenticated Users group has Read permission: CN=Addressing,CN=<OrgName>,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=<DomainName>,DC=com CN=Address-Templates,CN=Addressing,CN=<OrgName>,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=<DomainName>,DC=com CN=Display-Template,CN=Addressing,CN=<OrgName>,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=<DomainName>,DC=com CN=Address-Types,CN=Addressing,CN=<OrgName>,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=<DomainName>,DC=com Mike
