Problem with outlook 2007 while using Remote desktop with exchange 2007
Hi GentlemenCould you please provide a solution to the following problem.I am using terminal server 2003 and exchange server 2007. Earlier i had the outlook 2003 installed on terminal server and the users could send the mail from outlook 2003 while logged on remotely using terminal services, but now as the outlook was upgraded to 2007 standard edition ONLY the users which use remote desktop to connect to the server cannot even setup the email account. when they try to setup the account a prompt comes up asking for the user name and the password even tho they enter the correct credentials the mail setup wizard still asks for the credentials. But when i set up any mail account on the server locally the process is normal and the email is properly configured. I am using active directory in my organization. When i uninstall the outlook 2007 standard edition and reinstall the outlook 2003 it works.Thanks.

Hi, As Outlook 2007 works on local Terminal Server, I think the issue may not only relate to Exchange & Outlook 2007 side but also at Directory Service or Net Logon service issue. Currently, here are some questions I want to verify : ========================================= l Whether you try to configure the outlook 2007 manually or by auto setup account(autodiscover)? l Do you have any firewall between the Terminate server and client? l what authentication you have tried in outlook, the deault negoticate, kerbos, NTLM? l Whether this terminal server is an Global Catalog(GC)? You may start Outlook /rpcdiag to verify which GC is referred as the directory service. l Whether any related event ID is in the Terminal server & Exchange Server? You may enable full level diagnostic log for DSACESS on Exchange server to check more events log. l If its possible or condition allowed, you can build test environment and use Network Monitor Tool to capture network package in below scenarios. 1. Outlook 2007 logon while at local Terminal server. 2. Outlook 2007 logon whilethoughRemote Desktop connection. Because all communications are traffic in Outlook RDP connection and the situation is more complicated than I can image, so I suggest you submit a service incident to Microsoft PSS if it is urgent for solving this case. An article about Considerations when installing Outlook 2007 in a Terminal Services environment. Considerations when installing Outlook 2007 in a Terminal Services environment I really hope it helps to you. if I find more information, Ill update you in the forum. -Jason
