Problem with automatic forwarding in Outlook.com

I have two microsoft email accounts that I use frequently.

  • One is my original pop account in outlook from earthlink.
  • The other is a exchange activesync account from outlook.com

I have set up the activesync account to enable syncing of my iphone calendar and contacts with my outlook program. It works well.

But, I receive some emails sent directly to the activesync email account.  I want to forward these emails to my pop account so I can see both in my outlook program.

When I set up the outlook.com email account, activesync, to automatically forward the email to the pop account, I get messages from postmaster@mail.hotmail.com noting a delivery status notification failure.  It notes that it could not forward the email to the pop account mail server

This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.

Unable to deliver message to the following recipients, due to being unable to connect successfully to the destination mail server.

This is creating problems for me.  I am missing emails and senders are getting notifications that their emails are bouncing.  Many times, I am actually getting the email, but they are informed that it bounced.

Please help. Earthlink currently has a imap account option.  Would this help with the email forwarding problem?

Thanks.

Problems in Atlanta

Hi,

Please clarify the following questions so that we can resolve the problem more efficiently:

Do you have the Outlook.com account set up in Microsoft Outlook client?

Is there any problem if we send an email message directly from Outlook.com webmail interface?

How did you set up the outlook.com email account to automatically forward the email to the pop account? Did you do it via a rule created in Outlook.com webmail interface or Outlook client? If you did it in Outlook.com webmail interface, I'd recommend you post a new question in the Outlook.com forum for further assistance:

Thank you for your understanding and support.
