Problem opening PDF attachments on Moto Q
The message I get when trying to open a pdf attachment is "the document is faulty and could not be converted". This started with an upgrade from exchange 2003 to 2007. It seems to be limited to the Motorola Q (original one) running WM5 according to some posts I've found on various sites. I can copy the same file to the phone and it will open fine. I've tried a hard reset on the phone and different pdf viewers with no luck. Any suggestions or fixes?? Thanks.

I appreciate you clarifying the below questions firstly. 1. How did you get the email with the PDF attachment, using wireless ActiveSync, desktop ActiveSync or OWA? 2 Whether you can open other type attachmentlike*.doc? 3. Does the issue only occur at WM5 device? Whether mobile device with higher version such as WM6 has this issue? 4. Is there any networking device, like an ISA firewall or other type of firewall, sitting between the Internet and the Exchange CAS server? -Jason

Hello, I just want to follow-up this issue, please update me. I assume that you encountered this issue while using wireless ActiveSync. Please turn off the HTTP compression feature for the /Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync directory on Client Access Server(CAS) and then restart IIS Admin service. How about the issue after that? I am waiting for your reply. -Jason

Jason,Thanks for your replies. Since I originally posted this I've gotten a new phone due to a few other issues with it. The problem was definitely a Q/WM5 issue since 3 new phones running WM6.1 are fine. On another issue we're having now, would it be possible to get the hotfix described in p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:'Calibri','sans-serif';} p.MsoPlainText, li.MsoPlainText, div.MsoPlainText {margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;font-size:10.5pt;font-family:Consolas;} span.PlainTextChar {font-family:Consolas;} .MsoChpDefault {;} @page Section1 {size:8.5in 11.0in;margin:1.0in 1.0in 1.0in 1.0in;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} KB 955741 for the white screen with the ok button. This is a well known issue that we're experiencing but so far we haven't been able to get this fix. Can you help with this? Thanks.Jim
