I want to be able to install Office 365 proplus from a network share rather than stream it from Office 365 each time, however I've run into some problems. Can someone please advise what I may be doing wrong:
I have used the Office Deployment Tool and successfully downloaded Office onto a network drive. The downloaded files total to approx. 994Mb and look to be complete. I have also granted Domain Computers read/execute permissions to this folder.
My configuration.xml file looks like this:
<Configuration>
<Add SourcePath="file://my_server_name/Office365" OfficeClientEdition="32" >
<Product ID="O365ProPlusRetail">
<Language ID="en-us" />
</Product>
</Add>
<Updates Enabled="TRUE" UpdatePath="" />
<Display Level="Full" AcceptEULA="TRUE" />
<Logging Name="OfficeSetup.txt" Path="%temp%" />
<!-- <Property Name="AUTOACTIVATE" Value="1" /> -->
</Configuration>
To install Office I am opening a DOS window and running Setup.exe /configure configuration.xml
Office starts to install perfect fine however it stays for a very long time on the "We're wrapping things up - please stay online as we are making some finishing touches" (please see screen shot).
After staying on this screen for a very long time, the progress bar suddenly goes back to the start and the starts again ! If I leave it long enough it will complete, but we are talking 2 hours to install Office on a new machine from a local server. Even then when we launch the office applications, they fail to start with a message saying "Background installation ran into a problem". so after all the waiting I cant use office !
What am I doing wrong?
